Global Wool Production and Sustainable Standards

Although wool is produced in vast quantities, the amount used in apparel is small (1%) and decreasing. Sustainable wool sources are organically produced or abide by strict animal welfare criteria.

Wool is a natural, hard-wearing and long-lasting fibre produced by sheep all around the world and renowned for its thermal properties. Despite these attributes, its share of use in garment production is small and decreasing.
